About FNF: Hyp Mix
FNF: Hyp Mix is a Friday Night Funkin remix mod directed by hypsk8r. Hyp, a white, simply drawn character, takes Boyfriend's place, while Midy fills Girlfriend's role. The v0.5 demo revisits eight base-game songs with new arrangements and character artwork. Choose a track in Freeplay and match the notes to carry Hyp through each musical exchange.

Our Hyp Mix web adaptation
The web version on FNF Mod Online is our team's adaptation of the official Hyp Mix mod. We have optimized loading and the browser play experience to make it easier to jump into the music. The original mod, characters, music and artwork remain credited to their creators.
The official release is labeled as a v0.5 demo. Its desktop mod requires V-Slice v0.8.6; that requirement applies to installing the original mod. The player above opens the browser build directly.
Use Freeplay for the remix selection. This pack focuses on individual songs rather than a story campaign with dialogue and cutscenes. The Hyp Mix charts are available on Hard.
Hyp Mix characters, Freeplay and gameplay
Why FNF: Hyp Mix Feels Different From Other FNF Games
Hyp Mix changes who performs the familiar songs and how those songs sound. Here is what to look for when you enter Freeplay:
- Hyp replaces Boyfriend as the playable singer, with a simple white design that stands out against the returning stages.
- Midy replaces Girlfriend, giving the pair their own look alongside the original opponents.
- Eight remixes span Dadbattle, Spookeez, Pico, High, Cocoa, Senpai, Ugh and Lit Up.
- Freeplay lets you choose a remix directly, so you can repeat one chart without following a full week.
- The settings change between songs, from Daddy Dearest's stage to Senpai's pixel-art scene, while Hyp's artwork adapts to the setting.
Songs in FNF: Hyp Mix
Dadbattle (Hyp Mix)
Face Daddy Dearest on the stage. Listen to the remixed phrases before responding; knowing the original song can help you find the beat, but timing still comes from this arrangement.
Spookeez (Hyp Mix)
Return to Skid and Pump's dark setting. Keep your attention near the arrow targets so the background does not pull you away from the next phrase.
Pico (Hyp Mix)
Try Pico as an early pick while you get used to Hyp's mixes. Build a steady run before moving to a busier chart.
High (Hyp Mix)
The Mom encounter is a useful next step when you want a busier song. Keep your hand position steady through closely spaced arrows.
Cocoa (Hyp Mix)
Revisit the holiday encounter with the parents. Use repeated phrases to settle into the arrangement before trying another track.
Senpai (Hyp Mix)
See Hyp enter the pixel-art school setting. This is another starting option if you want to learn the pack before attempting its faster passages.
Ugh (Hyp Mix)
Take on Tankman after warming up. Read each cluster of arrows as a rhythm and avoid adding extra presses when the chart gets busy.
Lit Up (Hyp Mix)
Finish your tour with the Weekend 1 remix. Listen for its own phrasing rather than carrying the timing of the previous song into the chart.
How To Play FNF: Hyp Mix?
Learn the remix you selected rather than relying entirely on the original track's timing. Start with Pico, Cocoa or Senpai if you need a gentler introduction.
- Click Play Now, then click the game's start prompt to activate it. Press Enter to continue to the menu.
- Open Freeplay and choose the Hyp character for the Hyp Mix selection.
- Select a song labeled Hyp Mix and confirm the Hard chart.
- Press the matching arrow keys when your notes reach their targets. Hold a key through a sustained note.
- Watch the health bar and return to the beat after a miss. Extra presses make it harder to regain a steady rhythm.
- Replay the same song to learn its difficult phrases, then try High or Ugh when you are ready for a busier chart.
Who Will Enjoy FNF: Hyp Mix?
- Players who know the base FNF songs and want to hear different arrangements.
- Fans of original characters who want to play as Hyp alongside Midy.
- Rhythm players who prefer choosing individual songs in Freeplay.
- Players coming from Friday Night Funkin who want to revisit familiar opponents with new music.
- If you enjoy improving one chart over several attempts, pick a remix and use each run to learn another phrase.
Can You Keep Hyp on Beat Across All Eight Mixes?
A familiar title can make you expect the original rhythm. The challenge is to hear where this remix places its notes while keeping your eyes on the targets.
Choose one track, settle into its pulse and repeat the phrases that interrupt your run. Once those feel comfortable, change songs and listen for the new arrangement.
Open Freeplay, choose Hyp and start your next Hyp Mix chart.
